SHOCK WAVE

Shock wave treatment is a safe and well-documented treatment method for, above all, long-term tendon problems. Typical diagnoses are plantar fasciopathy, Achilles tendinopathy, jumper's knee, trochanteralgia, tennis elbow or calcific tendinopathy of the shoulder. The treatment method is a good alternative where exercise and rehabilitation is not sufficient all the way or to avoid more invasive methods such as cortisone injections or surgery.

The support in research is high and there is good evidence that the results within the indications mentioned above are good in comparison with placebo and other common treatment and exercise forms. The risks are very small and it is relatively easy to get good treatment results.

Today, there are few courses available and the method is not controlled by any external organization, which means that many come up with their own protocols and ideas. Therefore, our goal is to create a more homogeneous user group through education.

The courses we hold are based on current research but also through consensus with researchers and experienced users around the world. Great emphasis is placed on practical handling, but we also go through a comprehensive literature review as well as explanatory models for both the technology itself and the mechanism of action behind the treatment results.

We currently offer a basic course and an advanced course. The basic course is suitable for legitimate care providers who are either completely new to the method or who have worked for a while without having completed a course. The advanced course is aimed at those who have already completed the basic course and gained their own experience. Read more about the courses under the " courses " tab.
